The USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor is the 10th consecutive for SJU. A total of 61 Johnnies combined for a cumulative team GPA of 3.45. To qualify as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, all members of the roster must combine for a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better.
The four Johnnies honored (listed alphabetically) as USTFCCCA All-Academic include:
-Freshman Brady Labine (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), a music major;
-Junior Max Martin (Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata), an economics major;
-Senior Mitch Peck (Alexandria, Minn.), an applied physics and numerical computation double-major;
-Freshman Ryan Miller (Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace), an English major.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: he must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
The Johnnies finished third at the 2018 MIAC Outdoor Championships and fifth at the MIAC indoor meet in 2018. SJU collected 15 combined indoor and outdoor All-Region honors this spring and sent five competitors – one individual (Miller in the 100-meter dash) and one relay (4×100) – to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

The University of North Dakota track and field program, including DL’s Kyley Foster, received national acclaim for classroom excellence on Thursday, with both the men’s and women’s teams and five individual student-athletes garnering U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-academic awards.
North Dakota’s men’s and women’s squads were both named 2018 USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, while Molli Detloff, Chris Evenson, Kyley Foster, Destinee Haas and Michael Quesenberry were all recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals. UND’s five individual honorees were its most since transitioning to NCAA Division I in 2008-09.
UND’s women’s team boasted a 3.50 grade-point average and earned USTFCCCA honors for the 25th straight year, while the men’s squad possessed a 3.16 GPA and earned recognition for the 22nd year in a row. For individuals to qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic list, they must have possessed a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met at least one of the following athletic criteria:
For the indoor season, must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
For the outdoor season, must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
Detloff and Foster were both repeat honorees while Evenson, Haas and Quesenberry all earned their first recognition.
